Sky, a Wire Fox Terrier, has been named Best in Show at the National Dog Show.
The Wire Fox Terrier is rising in the ranks of the dog show world. For the second year straight, the breed has taken home the honor of winning Best in Show at the National Dog Show. This year, a pooch named "Sky" took the day's top prize, being chosen as the best amongst a group of over 1,500 dogs.
Sky's victory follows on the heels of a victory by Eira, the Wire Fox Terrier who was named Best in Show in 2011. The four-year-old bested the competition in the Terrier Group before impressing judges in the final show ring.
The win wasn't completely unexpected. Heading in to the show, Sky was the number one-ranked Wire Fox Terrier on the show circuit and the number four ranked all-breed show dog. She was also being handled by Gabriel Rangel, who with the latest win has won three of the last four National Dog Shows.
Sky's win was impressive, and she was joined by an equally impressive group of dogs who she bested in the final competition.
