This loveable little furry thief managed to charm his way into the wallets of an Animal Control officer after they discovered that he had developed an infatuation with a large stuffed purple unicorn from Dollar General.
After watching this lovely pup lay claim to one of their stuffed unicorns by returning to steal it from them over and over again, The Dollar General in question, located in Kenansville, North Carolina, decided to call Animal Control to retrieve the furry klepto from their store as they had grown tired of trying to deter him from their stuffed animal collection.
After receiving the call and heading over to the Dollar General to check out the perp, the Dublin Country Animal Control officer in charge of fetching Sisu, Samantha Lane, from his life of crime took one look at his adorable face and bought the unicorn toy for him.
Joe Newburn of the Dublin Country Animal Services told People magazine “He went straight for the unicorn, the same one every time.”
On Monday 22nd March the department decided to post a photograph of young Sisu cuddling his coveted unicorn to show off their latest pup ready for a forever home.
“This is what happens when you break into the dollar general consistently to steal the purple unicorn that you laid claim to but then get animal control called to lock you up for your B & E and larceny but the officer purchases your item for you and brings it in with you,” the caption read “Knows sit, lay, heel and loves unicorns from dollar general.”
Sisu was named when he arrived at the shelter, the name came from the Dragon in Disney’s “Raya and the Last Kingdom”. After naming the smiley pooch, wanting to immortalise this adorable story, the shelter photographed Sisu alongside his new unicorn buddy.
Following his rapid rise to fame for such precious behavior, it was announced on Friday 26th March that Sisu had already found his forever home! Not 24 hours after the original post by Animal Services Sisu was tracked down by his fated family, and is now happily home and settling in nicely. Along with their announcement of Sisu’s happily ever after, Animal Services also expressed that they welcome further unicorns for the other pups in their care, providing addresses for anyone that may be interested in sending one. The post reads:
“SISU HAS AN ADOPTER AND A RESCUE! ❤
