    Safari Flea Comb for Cats

At first glance, Safari's flea comb may appear to be just like any inexpensive product. Priced at just over four dollars with a rather ugly green handle, this comb seems to be nothing special. Yet cat owners comment on the fact that this comb works – to such an extent that it's fantastic and disgusting at the same time.

Ideal for treating fleas on short and long-haired breeds, the single row of thirty-one metal teeth wipes out nasty fleas so relentlessly that you'll have to dip it in a cup of water mixed with a mild detergent to remove them as you comb. Plus, this comb doesn't only work for removing fleas, it's also effective for eradicating dandruff and flakey skin.

In fact, the comb will stop all stages of the flea life cycle as a result of its ability to remove eggs and larvae. However, we, unfortunately, cannot recommend this comb to treat silky haired cats, as the comb isn't fine enough for their hair, leading to fleas escaping through the gaps.

The green, ergonomic handle is one of the best features Safari's comb has to offer. Although it's flat, this type of comb is much easier to maneuver and comb delicate parts of your cat's body in comparison to combs that don't possess a handle. Another benefit of this model is its lightness. For felines who have suffered from a flea invasion, your hand won't become heavy when combing through your cat's fur for what feels like hours!

However, what we deem to be one substantial disadvantage to Safari's flea comb design is the absence of rounded tips. For first-time users, in particular, the square and sharp ends of the comb make it difficult to conveniently glide across your cat's skin in a way that won't hurt them. Yet as long as you take your time combing your cat to rid them of perky fleas, you shouldn't hurt them. One thing's for sure – a comb that possesses sharp ends is far superior when compared to combs featuring plastic teeth.

Safari's model may not be aesthetically appealing. However, this type of flea remover is loads cheaper than topical treatments and functions as a lifesaver for desperate cat owners and flea-ridden felines everywhere.

      Pros

Thirty-one metal teeth work quickly to eradicate fleas from your cat's coat

Ergonomic flea comb handle is light to hold for long periods of time

Flea comb works to uproot all stages of the flea life cycle thanks to its capacity to remove fleas and larvae

      Cons

Lack of rounded tips on comb's teeth make it difficult for first-time users to operate without scratching their pet's skin

Comb handle is flat and therefore uncomfortable to hold
