Choosing Dog Bowls for Your Canine

Dog bowls typically come in three types - plastic, ceramic or stainless steel. Most bowls work well for most breeds and situations, but there are still some differences to consider.

Dogs who have sensitive skin and are prone to allergic reactions should have a dog bowl that is stainless steel. Both stainless steel and ceramic bowls are easier to clean. Ceramic bowls are heavier and come in a wide variety of colors, prints and patterns.

Stainless steel bowls are relatively lightweight and clean in appearance. Plastic bowls tend to be lightweight and less expensive. You also have the option to get collapsible dog bowls that are ideal for travel and excursions.
