Using a Cat Food Dispenser
If your cat is finicky, a cat food dispenser may be just what you need to keep your cat happy at mealtime. Many cats don't like the taste of dry food after it's been in a bowl for a few hours. A cat food dispenser will keep your cat's food fresh until you are ready to feed your cat.
Some cat food dispensers mount on the wall and dispense a small amount of food at a time. You fill the bowl while the rest of the food is stored safely. Other pet food dispensers hold a small amount of food that is dispensed into the bowl as your cat eats. These cat food dispensers are especially good if you're going to be away from home for a few days. There are similar systems for water, as well. These are very handy if you have to leave your cats alone for business trips or a short weekend getaway. With cat food and water dispensers, you can be sure your cat's food and water is fresh while you're away.
Need additional storage for your cat food? Some cat food dispensers are rugged enough to hold an entire bag of cat food and are hefty enough that your cat can't bite through it or tear it with their claws. If you use a smaller dispenser while you're away from home, look for one with a weighted base. That way, your cat can't tip over the dispenser.
Most pet stores carry several cat food dispensers to choose from, so you're sure to find the right one for your needs.
