Age-Appropriate Puppy Exercise

Thinking about going on an active outing with your pup? Puppy exercise is important, but you have to consider the age of your pooch when taking him/her out for an activity.

Puppy exercise should be limited to soft surfaces like grass, dirt or even the carpet of your home. At a young age, a puppy's tissues are still soft and his/her bones are growing. A great deal of exercise can be stressful on your young pup's growing body.

You might also find a young puppy has a shorter attention span and will be more prone to distractions. Until your puppy is four months of age, limit puppy exercise to play and hold off on walking him/her on a leash for exercise.
