NEW HOME UPDATE: My new mom adopted me two weeks ago, and I am so happy I purr all the time! I love to play with the laser toy with my owner's 6-year-old daughter, and I now have a 9-year-old Golden Retriever sibling. It only took me one day to adjust to my new home. I already have a favorite chair I sunbathe in, and even my own room if I need to get away from it all. My new home is great for me and I'm so thankful to the animal shelter. Thank you for voting for me! -Phoebe
I was found living behind a shipping company office and brought to the Charleston Animal Society by a concerned citizen. I was someone's beloved pet but had either become lost or was abandoned. When staff began evaluating me they found a burn wound on my right side. I was prescribed antibiotics and am recovering at the shelter. I was gentle and sweet with staff members even when I was in pain.
Phoebe's Favorites:
Favorite activity: Keeping clean
Favorite toy: Ball with a bell in it
Favorite food: Cheese
Strong likes: I love to be held and love children
Strong dislikes: Smelly, dirty dogs
Household Notes: I would do well in a multi-cat household as long as they are clean, and I am great and gentle with kids.

What a gorgeous kitty. Hope she is adopted by a loving family soon who will love her and keep her safe, and let no one abuse her.

Phoebe you are a very beautiful kitty. I will continue pray that a loving family adopts you. If I lived in Charleston you would be in my household with 3 kitties.

Phoebe is soooooooooooo beautiful. I would adopt her but my Mom is allergic. Phoebe reminds me of a Maine Coon I had when I was married-they are wonderful cats.

She looks exactly like my Miss Schwee who I found about 5 years ago. And she became the most appreciative, affectionate rescue. So someone please give her a forever home. Milan NY

This sweet girl has the face of an angel. She can make a real difference to someone who loves her. I wish she were mine. My household has reached its capacity for cats - or so my husband believes. If I had one wish, I'd wish her love, comfort, and safety in a forever home.

I would take her in a second, but my house is already full with pets

If I did not have 3 cats already I would take her. She is a beauiful cat. Indianapolis, IN.

Phoebe what a beautiful cat you are,she looks like a stray I've been making friends with for the past 9 months.I finally captured her to bring to my vet to get her fixed so she can finally stop having kittens! What a releif. Now to catch the last 2 kittens she had so they dont reproduce.I named her Priscilla. They could be sisters! Someone dumped her a few years ago,and I moved here about 9 months ago, the neighbors said she just keeps having kittens,so sad.She has been given a new lease on life just like Phoebe.Good luck little girl, hope you find your forever home.

What a beautiful cat! Longhaired cats are the best :)
Anonymous January 30, 2009 12:23 PM
she is such a beautiful cat!1 how could anyone ever have dumped her to fend for herself. I, too, would take her in an instant if I didn't already have two cats, I adopted from our local shelter, and a third cat that someone dumped on our rural road as a tiny kitten. I hope someone soon realizes what a great companion this cat will be.

What a sad story--who could abandon or abuse such a beauty? She deserves all the best.

So gorgeous! She could win my heart by long distance, but the spoiled furball I have doesn't like other animals in "her" house, And I love her too much to argue a lot. Phoebe gets my vote.

What a beautiful cat! I am from ND and would LOVE to take her, but my 3 boys (7, 3, 9 months) are having a hard time dealing with each other the way it is!!! I hope someone can find it in their heart to take her in. She just looks like she's got so much love to give!

Phoebe, I am sending you love and kisses from Iowa. I know you will have a new home soon. Wish it was with me but we have a houseful of rescued cats and dogs here. You are a true jewel!

What a beautiful kitty. Reminds me of a kitten I found at my Local Kmart. Some kids had a box full of kittens and I choose him because he started purring as soon as I picked him up. Gave me 19 years of love. I broke down and adopted a black and white 8 month old kitten last year from our local no kill shelter Bless the Beasts and she has been a equally warm companion. I voted for Phoebe. I am sure someone deserving will adopt her soon. Too bad I am in California!

From the moment I saw her eyes, I knew this cat is a great friend. I will vote for Phoebe and keep her in my prayers. Just wish I could bring her home with me!!!

Here's a real cutie! She'd be one that likely could fit in here among my other 8 "kids" here in central VA.

Phoebe is a beautiful girl. I live in the Charleston area, but I already have 9 cats that I have rescued. Unfortunately, I can't adopt Phoebe, but I hope someone will soon. Best of luck to you, pretty kitty. FD

A cat who puts up with people while in pain has to eb a truly lovable animal. It was a hard choice but i go with Phoebe for her willingness to let people take care of her in spite of what might have happened previously. You go girl!~

Phoebe is a gentle puuuurfect little girl. I wish her great luck in finding her forever home.

Phoebe is a beautiful kitty. We adopted an abandoned, injured long haired kitty almost 2 years ago. Good food and loving care is all "Redford" needed to become the most comical cat we have. I pray that Phoebe finds her forever home soon. Proud Mom of 6 Furkids Dover, PA.
