Hans is sooo cute, wish I could adopt him, but due to finances, rent a room...no pets. I wish that little guy all the best...he deserves it!

Hans is adorable, and makes me want to get in my car and head down from southeastern Michigan. We have a female chi named Little Bit, who is white with tan ears. If I brought one more pet home, I think I'd be packing.

Thank God that another puppy mill was shut down, and he was fortunate enough to be given another chance.I also have a chihuahua from a puppy mill and wouldnt give her up for the world. She has been a member of my family for 3 years now.I wish I could adopt him but i have several animals now and live so far away.I wish Hans the very best,I'm sure as cute as he is, he'll find his forever home very soon.
Anonymous January 30, 2009 12:14 PM
I, too, have two rescued Chihuahua. The oldest one, Lulu, is hopefully no older than 11 yrs. (had her for 6 yrs) She is 5 pounds. Someone broke her jaw and she has no teeth. She is still very neurotic, but a million per cent better than when I got her. The other little girl, Emmy, is three and weighs 3 pounds. She is perfect.
My fervent prayer is that all 15 of these animals be adopted and go into "forever" homes.
When I brought Lulu home, I had a greyt greyhound and a mini doxie who were both very old. When I can no longer have dogs around, I don't want to be here.
Anonymous January 30, 2009 12:25 PM
They're ALL the most lovable! The best i can figure out to do is vote for the shelter likely to need the money the most. The South is generally poor & most (though not all, thank goodness) southerners don't support non-human animals well.
Anonymous January 30, 2009 1:16 PM
I LOVE HIM, I JUST FOUND ONE LIKE HIM, CHIHUAHUA'S ARE SO SMART AND VERY PROTECTIVE OF THEIR FAMILY-ANY ONE WHO GETS HIM WILL BE VERY LUCKY!!
Anonymous January 30, 2009 5:16 PM
He is so cute!! I have a 15 lb. chihuahua and he is the best. Wish I could adopt this little guy but I'm in South Florida. I have no doubt someone will pick him up soon. Good luck, Hans!!

i just adopted two chi's that came from a puppy mill. one is 10 yrs. and the other 12 but bth are healthy and still have so much love to give until they go to that rainbow bridge but i sure wish i could adopt hans too bu i live in indiana and i am at my dog limit with the 2 senior chi's. nancy
Anonymous January 31, 2009 12:08 AM
Having a chihuahua already I know what loveable loyal dogs they are. I wiash I could bring Hans all the way to Calfornia. I envy the lucky owner.
Anonymous January 31, 2009 11:54 AM
Hans is so very precious! I would love to adopt him and am thinking about it. I already have 2 chihauhaus..Teko and Teppie..they were rescues. Teko weighs just under 3 pounds and Teppie (a long hair) weighs 10 pounds. I also have 3 poms and a 16 year old maltese/dox/chi mix (not to mention my other critters!) I would die without my dogs, they are my family and my caretakers as they care for me as much as I do them. I use to have over 100 pets, but no longer have the room, or the finances. If I don't grab Hans up soon, I hope he will get the home he deserves shortly.
Anonymous January 31, 2009 2:08 PM
There's always room for one more chi...Rescue dogs have such loyalty and a presence unmatched by many...as though they are giving us a giant thanks. I have several chis already and each has a very distinct personality, and NONE are yappy little anklebiters. Hans will bless whatever household he joins- he deserves nothing less than to live out his life with love. Good luck, Hans!!
Anonymous January 31, 2009 6:17 PM
What a cutie! I have a chihuahua/chinese crested mix who is the sweetest thing alive! She was a rescue, just like 2 of her 3 brothers and sisters. I believe those 3 picked me, and my life hasn't been the same since! How lucky am I!
Anonymous January 31, 2009 10:45 PM

Anonymous February 1, 2009 10:52 AM
It saddens me when I hear of these puppy mills still in existence. There is nothing like the love of a dog. They are Gods most loyal and loving animals. They love you unconditionally and deserve to be treated the same. I have two chihuahuas and a mini-pin and don't know what I would do without them. I would have hundreds of dogs if I had a proper place for them. I love them all. I hope someone gives Hans a wonderful home and lets him finally find happiness for the rest of his life. I wish it could be me.
Anonymous February 1, 2009 12:40 PM
Hans-you are such a precious little guardian sent from above... I pray you find your forever home soon...
Anonymous February 1, 2009 1:45 PM

Hans is Precious...I Hope Hans Finds a Person to love and care for him like he deserves, he hasnt had a very good life until he found you, and now he needs to find a forever family to love him, all he wants is to be loved...that's all animals ask for is love because that's all they give..
Anonymous February 3, 2009 11:49 AM
Oh his sweet face made my heart melt for him! I pray for the day when all horrific puppy mills are closed down. Thank goodness he made it out and hopefully will begin his new life soon! I would love to take him but already have 3 chihuahuas. They are my family and I'm excited to see them everyday when I come home. They comfort me unlike anyone else. Please adopt him if you can. Dogs are a blessing! Becca Lincoln Nebraska

Anonymous February 4, 2009 8:24 AM
I always want to tke all the chi's home, especially the seniors who have been dislodged from their homes becuse ofwahtever reason and i want to shake the stuffings out of the owners who give up their pets because"they moved and can't have pets! I always take my pets into consideration FIRST when I move. 8 years ago, I bought a little hose with a huge yard especially for my 2 chi's. It has a privacy fence and a huge laundry room so the dogs now have their own room to stay in when I go to work. My house is puppy proof and I take extra care to not put temeptation in their way. I have adopted a Lhaso Apso-Min Pin mix from y son who is one of those that needs a good shaking and she is about the same size as the chi's. I would love to have Hans also but I have 2 cats also and just feel I can't take on the expense of another dog. sometimes I sit ad cry for the little chi who just lost his family to a new baby or a new home or whatever. Why don't people realize that animals are much like children and you should never ever adopt or buy one unless you are sure you are goign to do everything possible to keep him until death do you part?? and Puppy mills?? Those horrible people should have the maximum thrown at them and a year is NOT long enough to lock them up. They should be locked up for the duration of the oldest pet they own so they get a good taste of what being locked up means!!!
Anonymous February 9, 2009 3:43 PM
I agree with the above comment that puppey mill owners should be locked up for the duration of their oldest pets' lives...or perhaps their own lives under the same conditions their dogs were submitted to. BAN PUPPY MILLS!!!. Hans is adorable and I hope he finds his furever home soon. Linda TX
Anonymous February 9, 2009 4:32 PM
I just love his face, he looks like he really wants a forever home, I have 2 small dogs, one Maltese, and 1 1/2 chi and 1/2 yorkie that is 6 lbs. also 1 cat that we drescued at 4 years old, and did not know she did not like dogs, but after a year she is better. but our Maltese was tramaitised when she fought him 2 times, as he loves cats, and could not understand why this cat did not love him. I would love to take Hans, but we live in Oregon. I sure hope he finds a home soon.
Anonymous February 10, 2009 12:07 AM
I wish I could adopt him. I had to have my Chihuahua put to sleep just before Christmas. I don't have a way to get to Charleston though. I'm so glad he's out of the puppy mill!

Hans so glad your away from the puppy mill. You're so cute you should be able to find a great loving home. If I didn't already have three Maltese (Jazmin, Precious and Tomas) a turtle and a bird I would like you to be part of my family. After the puppy mill you will get lots of love. I know you'll find a great loving home soon.

he's so cute. Glad they shut down the puppy mill. I have 5 chihuahua's and love them so much you couldn't pay me enough to get rid of any of them. No puppies here.Wish you the best in placing him.I placed a shih tuz with a 89 yr old woman and her care taker is going to take her if any thing happens to the lady. And the dog was a rescue so I am very happy. Good luck sounds like he may have a home shortly. Just another animal lover.

Hans reminds me so much of my Petunia, who believe it or not was with me for 24 yrs (human years). She passed on Oct.23,2008. I have her registration papers. Due to my health and aging I am unable to take you but you will be in my prayers that you find a happy and loving home soon.

I am desperate for (another) Chi rescue. I would take him in a heartbeat. I live in Upstate New York and have no transportation. I adore chi's. I never used to untill I adopted my girl from a local shelter. She is my absolute best friend and soulmate! Anyone from N.Y know of any local chi's that need a home? I have a bunny as well and Roxy (my chi) and Bbs (bunny) get along so amazingly.

Kathi March 6, 2009 3:48 PM
Hans is adorable! Wish I lived closer. I would love to have him!!
Tracy March 6, 2009 4:11 PM
Hans is precious. I have 3 chihuahuas and they are a joy. Sometimes I think small dogs get a bad rep. But I'm always quick to stand up for the little dog!
Margaret March 6, 2009 8:19 PM
Love him. I have a Chihuahua who was a stray. My daughter does rescue and a friend of hers in Southern Virginia sent her a picture of what was to become my Mia (MiMi). The shelter where she was does not try to place a pet, but euthanizes them instead. Thank God, I have little Mia. She is adorable. She's intelligent, and more than anything, she makes me happy. I love her. I'm trying to figure out a way to get Hans - I live in Virginia so I'm not sure about the trip down to SC.
J Roberts of California March 6, 2009 10:06 PM

Suzanne March 9, 2009 1:57 PM
It breaks my heart that someone has not given Hans a new home. I have 2 Chihuahua and my roommate has 1. She also has a 5 year old daughter. If my homeowners would allow more pets, 3 is limit for dogs, I would snatch him up! Please someone open your heart and give this lil guy a great home. Chi are great little house dogs!
Julie March 10, 2009 4:25 PM
I think Hans is such a little cutie and it would be great if he found a forever home. If that doesn't happen, contact www.homeforlife.org to see if they have room for him or any of the dogs/cats on this page. They are an 40 acre animal sanctuary in Star Prairie, Wisconsin that takes in older special need animals and cares for them for life.
