NEW HOME UPDATE: I've been in my new home for two weeks now and while I was a little shy at first, I'm really enjoying living with my new owners. I live with a married couple and my favorite place in my new home is the windowsill. I love to sit and watch the birds, just like I did at the shelter! I love my new life, especially taking naps with my owners. They also changed my name by one letter to rename me after a famous movie star: Audrey Hepburn! Thank you so much to everyone from the shelter who helped me be adopted and to everyone who voted for me. - Audrey (a.k.a. Aubrey)

I came to the shelter as a nursing mother with four kittens. A Good Samaritan turned us in to the Town Lake Animal center. My four kittens and I were brought to the Austin Humane Society, and my kittens were put in foster care and I was fed good food so I could get strong. I currently live in a "cat colony" at the shelter with eight other cats while I wait to find a quiet, gentle home and owner.

Aubrey's Favorites:

Favorite activity: Sitting on the 3rd level perch in the community cat room
Favorite toy: Not big on toys, I prefer to watch the birds outside
Favorite food: Treats!

Strong likes: Being independent
Strong dislikes: Over-petting me when I need "alone time"

Household Notes: I need to be in a quiet household. I get along with other cats, but keeps to myself a lot and probably wouldn't thrive among young children or lots of activity.

I'd have you in ;my home if I lived in Tex. You're a beautiful cat & you're breed, is the best there is. I have a 5 yr. old female Calico. Her mother is a Siamese.

You're a beautiful kitty and I'd adopt you in a minute if I lived in your area. I hope someone wonderful adopts you and gives you a loving, caring home! Such a sweet, sweet face!!

Nice eyes! The semi-feral cat I've taken in wouldn't go for another puss in her territory. She hates that I feed the ferals in the neighborhood. She forgets that she was once like them without a home, her mommy brought me several litters, some of which I had fixed and some I brought to the local pet shop.
Wish this kit luck in finding a good home. All the animals deserve a vote, can't choose just one.

She is irresistable! Thank goodness I don't live near there, 8 cats are enough!

She looks like she could be a good friend. I love her eyes. Pat, Chicago

Dear little Audrey reminds me of a human friend with the same name. Audrey the cat has some real sweetness about her. I hope a sensitive person who knows that to love a cat is to love her as she wishes to be loved. Not every cat wants to be held, but her mere presence would warm my heart. Have a good life in a loving forever home.

Aubrey looks just like our "Chip" whom we rescued at age 4 weeks after he was abandoned in post housing at Fort Bragg. He's our Goodwill Ambssador, as he has taken every rescue we bring home under his wing and made them welcome. I think Aubrey, with the sad eyes, will have the same sweet temperment. I vote for Aubrey and hope that someone will give her the loving home she needs!

there bis no love like the love of an animal. i have rescued some myself and pray 1 day all animals will have a great home. you will find your rite owner. lots of meow love and kisses. chris, az.

Aubrey is BEAUTIFUL! If I lived in Texas I'd take her in for sure. Shy kitties just need a home where they feel safe, and to go at their own pace, and they'll come out of their shell soon enough. Mine did! I hope Aubrey finds her forever home, where she really flourishes, soon. She deserves it!

I wish I lived in Texas, we (my 2 male cats and I) would gladly adopt her. I don't see the Siamese at all in her, though - I think she's a tabby...Anyways, best wishes Aubrey! Debbie, Minnesota

Sounds like my kinda cat!

Anonymous January 30, 2009 7:45 PM

She is just gorgeous. One day the Lord will set everything right in the world, and we will all live in harmony; little kitties like Aubrey and the other little furred and feathered things will each have loving homes or all the space they need to roam the earth in safety, as they deserve.

Aubrey You're A beautiful little girl. I'm far away in Chesapeake, Va. I love cats and have one big dog who's never seen a cat. I think you wouldn't like a happy loud, "Wow, Look whats in the living room Mom!" sort of home. May the Gentle Kitty Angels watch over you and give you a loving family. *Warm huggles* :)
