I will B getting a new puppy. These are great ideas and we can save $$$$ for other dog needs. And I agree with "no peanut butter" for dietary reasons.

I haven't heard of that, but I'd love to read about it if you could supply a link.ADD:Thanks for pdirivong the link. I have heard of Lepto, but is not apparent in my area. However, my dogs are vaccinated against it. Dogs are usually vaccinated with DHLPP which includes the Lepto vaccine.DHLPPDistemper, Hepatitis (CAV-2), Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus (combined canine vaccine)You should talk with a vet to ease your concerns.i'M AN OLD SURVIVOR!

These DIY's are great ideas except for the regular in the cupboard peanut butter game. Dogs have a higher sensitivity to human food than we realize & giving them human peanut butter can actually cause unecessary health problems. Human peanut butter actually contains a lot of sugar & salt that dogs should not be intaking into their diet. If an owner of a dog is to consider giving their pet any peanut butter treats, please consider what is actually healthy for them & find a suitable dog peanut butter that won't hinder their digestion or health.
