2012 Animal Shelter Makeover: P&G Paws for a Cause Part III
An animal shelter's outward appearance and internal organization can drastically affect a shelter's functionality and in turn affect pet adoption rates. With this in mind, P&G Pet Care, as a part of their Paws for a Cause program and in conjunction with the IAMS Home 4 the Holidays adoption drive, sought to remake an Ohio-area animal shelter, Circle Tail, and help the shelter's animals.
As part of their renovation, volunteers improved various areas on the shelter's grounds. Watch the video above to see the changes Circle Tail underwent as they are revealed for the first time!
Help an Animal Shelter in Need Today
While feasible, making over an animal shelter is a large scale project that isn't right for everyone. The good news is that providing a makeover for your local shelter isn't the only way you can help animals and the rescue in your community.
You can help your rescue by providing a little bit of your personal time on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Volunteer at your local animal shelter, where you can help in a myriad of ways including helping walk the rescue's dogs, aiding with adoption drives and events, fostering pets or even providing a service as simple as cleaning up areas in the shelter that need it.
Another way you can help out is by donating supplies. Animal shelters are always in need of materials to keep the shelter running. These items range all the way from cleaning supplies, used to clean the rescue's kennels and boarding areas, to food and even office supplies. For a full list of items shelters need, check out Petside's list of 10 things to donate to an animal shelter.
