Where did you get your pet?
We found him in the paper needing a home because his previous owners were having a baby and were needing to give him up. He was only a few months old and was a perfect match when we met him. We met the family in Nevada, Iowa (about an hour drive), and in about 30 minutes were already headed home with him.
What is your dog's favorite thing to do?
My dog loves going on walks or just playing around. We sometimes even play like hide and go seek, but he always seems to win.
What have you trained Tucker to do?
I've taught my dog to do a lot of tricks (shake, sit, lay down, jump, etc.) and what always seems to work the best with him is being patient and loving. He always responds well to little treats or attention for a reward.
Does your dog help you train?
I always take him with me when I go running or ride my bike, but what he loves the most is when I do stationary exercises like sit ups or stretching because he thinks licking my face and wrestling with me gets me working harder and helps motivate me.
What is your favorite thing about Tucker?
He just loves me for me. He always there to greet me when I get home, cuddle with me whenever I need it, and is always wagging his tail and wanting to play while wearing his big doggy smile.

I have a 2 yr old Golden Retriever named Tucker and a 10 yr old female Golden, Ginger. Everyone should have at least one in their family, they never disappoint!

Goldens & Labradors are great companions and Shawn did a great job in describing these dogs personalities and loving dispositions, as well as their fun seeking side.
I have an old lab (Luna) and my daughter has a young golden (Sepia). In spite of their age differences (10 years) they are great friends and love to be with each other (and us, of course!).

That is a beautiful site!! I'm stuck in an apt. in Lancaster County, PA. They( especially Mennonites and Amish) say "dogs outside, people inside" I had several dogs in MO, but when my husband die last Feb. 2008,I could only bring one dog. That is my best friend,Honey, my 7 yr. old Golden Retriever.She is depressed and I am too. Maybe I can get out of this place and have a real life again. Sorry to ramble..... you are a wonderful team!!

Tucker is beautiful. We had to put our Golden down 12/22/08 - she had kidney failure (despite numerous treatments, the vet convinced us that we were keeping her alive for us.) It was devastating to let Clover go, but we know she is in a better place after 9 years of loving companionship/friendship/pet-ship. Clover was our second Golden - our first being L.B. (Laid Back). It is taking time, but we know we will get another Golden - they are the best! (Shawn - it has been wonderful watching you every week! Take care of Tucker!)

Shawn, We just lost our Golden, Bayley, in November, Came home after just being out a couple of hrs. and he was laying in his bed, just like he was sleeping. He had just died in his sleep. We knew something was wrong when we came in, because he usually greeted us at the door, tail wagging, always so happy to see us return. He was 12 and hopefully did not suffer. He was the best boy ever. We miss him every day. Love you on DWTS and Tucker is just beautiful. Many years of happiness with him. They just light up your life!!! Good luck, Shawn

I just lost my 12 y.o. Pebbles ( a beautiful Golden Retriever ) and I miss her very much. Please take care of Tucker...he looks like he enjoys being cuddled by her pretty guardian.
