Furry, Fabulous and Famous: Celebrity Pets
They are rich, they are famous, they are on the cover of magazines and they love designer clothes. And that is just the pets.
Take a look into the life of a pet when they are as popular as their owners.
Paris Hilton with Tinkerbell
Paris Hilton + dog as accessory + paparazzi = one much photographed dog.
Tinkerbell was in a midst of scandal when she went missing in 2004. Paris Hilton offered a reward for her return and while Tinkerbell was reunited with her mistress it remains a mystery - was she held ransom or did she just run away?
Judging by her outfits, Tinkerbell just got fed up with wearing pink all the time.
Oprah Winfrey with Sophie and Solomon
Oprah - a media mogul, a philanthropist, queen of the talk shows. But if there ever was anyone who shared her limelight, and did not resent her for it, then it was her dogs.
Sophie and Solomon are Cocker Spaniels that have been with Oprah for 13 years. They were featured on The Oprah Show and graced a number of magazine covers.
Unfortunately Sophie passed away earlier this year due to kidney failure. Oprah dedicated a show in her honor.
Jason Calacanis with Fondue and Taurus
The founder of Weblogs, Inc. and the brain behind Mahalo (a human-powered search engine) Jason Calacanis is always one step ahead of the times. Not the one to shy away from the spotlight, he received fierce competition when he started streaming JasonNation (daily video updates for fans). His pet bulldogs Fondue and Taurus have since become stars.
In August Taurus was bitten by a snake (or a spider, vet was not sure which) and was rushed to the vet immediately. When Calacanis 'twittered' Taurus' life was in danger, support for the dog poured in. Taurus is alive and doing well, and back to his usually cheeky self. Look them up on Twitter.com. (You will need to sign up first.)
The Clintons and Socks
Socks was only the fourth cat to inhabit the White House since Franklin D. Roosevelt but he was also the only cat to be voted out of the office when the Clintons got a Labrador Retriever named Buddy. Bill Clinton said he did better with Palestinians and Israelis then with Buddy and Socks.
Socks was quite popular, he passed the time by going on goodwill visits. He lived in Arkansas with Clinton's secretary Betty Currie until he passed at the age of 20 in February 2009.
George Clooney with his pig Max
While Max the pig might not have been the most exotic pet in Hollywood, he did hold a special place in Clooney's heart. Max was and still is the longest relationship Clooney's had. Bought as a present for a girlfriend Kelly Preston, Clooney kept the pig after they broke up.
Max passed away at the age of 18 and 300 pounds. In a number of interviews afterwards Clooney expressed his sadness over the loss of his pet. We hear you George - he might have been a pig, but he was your pig.
Perez Hilton with Teddy
Like him or loathe him, Perez Hilton has become a force to be reckoned with. And while many might sneer at what he does, it cannot be denied that his blog is the mother of all gossip blogs.
Golden-doodle Teddy, his dog, was introduced on his blog as the latest addition to the family. Teddy's popularity is such that he has his own line of T-shirts and Madonna knows his name. Even in human terms that is quite an accomplishment.
Leona Helmsley with Trouble
Leona Helmsley, a.k.a. the Queen of Mean, was charged with tax evasion and of the opinion that only little people pay taxes. The late hotel and property billionaire did have a soft spot for her Maltese named Trouble. So much so in fact that she left her $12 million in her will.
Trouble is a dog with the largest trust fund in the world but she had to be whisked away to unknown location after her life was threatened. Just goes to show money does not equal happiness.

new pet product for dogs/cats April 13, 2009 1:08 PM
Hi,
I wanted to tell all dog and cat owners of a new site I found about a month ago, it's called, http://www.frescopet.com. They sell fragrant
tags that attach to the collar, and provides a nice soft scent to your pet. I purchased a couple of the coconut Frescopets for my lab Hershey. She now has a soft coconut scent in between baths. Check out the site. ;) Anabelle..
