While a healthy Siberian Husky or Alaskan Malamute most likely will not need any canine clothing to survive a romp in the snow, these types of dogs would benefit from a sweater: small dogs; dogs who are elderly or chronically ill; and dogs that have a thin body type with short fur like the Greyhound. Each of these types of dogs have a harder time generating and retaining heat on their own—so they would definitely be thankful if you can help them stay dry and warm!
