So you're off to college. Whether it's your first year away or your fourth, there is always that moment, either when the parents leave or when you're finally done unpacking your new stuff, that you suddenly feel it - you're a bit homesick.
Wouldn't it be great if you could have a constant companion to get you through times like these? Someone or something that would make you forget the sad and carry on? Check out these ten super pet-friendly colleges and this fall, when you pack up the groceries, toiletries and bedding, you can also pack up your most trustworthy companion.
Don't fret if your favorite friend isn't exactly an average pet, either. Whether your animal is furry or scaly, flies or swims, our list includes a school for every type and takes the number and variety of rooms the two of you can share into consideration. Heck, there's even a college for horses.
For starters, do you know why the caged bird sings? It's probably because he heard all about Vassar College's pet policy, and now he knows you'll never need to part.
Your winged friends are welcome at the college of Vassar in Poughkeepsie, New York, as are any other animals in aquariums and terrariums.
