SUNY Canton rounds out the top 10 pet friendly colleges of 2011 due to its dedication to small animals. The University has an entire wing dedicated to those residential students who wish to bring a small, caged animal with them on their college journey.
In order to live in this wing / bring your pal, you need to request to live there and fill out a pet contract saying you'll adhere to the college's pet policy.
The environment is nice, as it allows other pet lovers to live together and bond and forge friendships over the animal companions that become the conversation-starters between new students.
At the moment, the university doesn't permit dogs (of any size), birds, or snakes. Other critters that are confinable to cages are fair game though!
