Situated on Florida's scenic Gulf Coast, Eckerd College in St. Petersburg is the ultimate pet friendly college paradise for the third year running!
Year in and year out, it seems that this college just cannot be topped when it comes to pet friendliness. Overall, Eckerd has the loosest pet policy of any school.
On site, there are 5 dedicated dorms where every resident is allowed to own one or two pets. And the range of pets is immense, as students are able to take almost any animal, including dogs under 40 lbs and cats.
Like Stephens College, Eckerd doesn't allow Pit bulls and some other breeds, including Rottweilers. But on the whole, Eckerd's policy is fairly lax.
While your pet obviously must remain supervised, you can bring your pet almost anywhere. There's even at least one academic building, Brown Hall, where pets are allowed inside.
For the third year, Eckerd tops Petside's pet friendly colleges list because pets are just part of the environment here. Overall, the lifestyle is so laid back that, at least for this year, Eckerd ranks highest on our list!
