The Best Dog-Friendly Beaches of 2010

It's that sunny time of year again. Time to pack up the folding chairs and the frisbees, the cooler and the sunscreens. Collect Fido from his resting spot under the tree and put him in the house so you and the family can head out to the beach.
Of course, you wouldn't have to leave Fido if you knew where you could take him. Why shouldn't he be able to catch a wave with the rest of his family? Maybe he hasn't put in as many late nights at the office as you have, but he was there to greet you every evening.
To give you both a break we've taken the guesswork out of picking the perfect spot. Any of these ten dog beaches will have both you and your pooch coming back for more of their lax leash laws, gorgeous scenery, and nearby pet-friendly activities and amenities.

St.Simons Island, Georgia, has a wonderful dog beach. There's a section where dogs can actually run free so long as they're under voice command. My 3 dogs really enjoyed that beach when we lived on St. Simons.
I really want to try one of these beaches thanks to your exceptional work writing about them (if only I wasn't afraid to put Ranger on a plane!).
