Michaela Lee, a Tacoma, Wash., resident, and her dog, Maddy, were on a walk on a trail in a local park when Maddy decided to chase two raccoons up a tree. That’s when five raccoons started attacking Lee, inflicting 16 puncture wounds and 100 scratches. Lee was lying on the ground bleeding and screaming for help when Maddy jumped between Lee and the wild assaulters growling and baring her teeth. Lee says Maddy is her hero dog.
