This Thanksgiving article is dedicated to my second rescue, Emma, a Shepherd/Rottweiler mix, who saved me 11 years ago on December 1 from a charging horse. We lost Emma two years ago, but I have never forgotten her heroic actions of that day, nor has my loved ones. When an animal saves your life, you are forever thankful.
