All the same this little one at 6 weeks will survive but you need to be very gentle with her, she is very much a baby pup at 6 weeks. Shih Tzu are sure cute little dogs, I love the Westies and have had 3 of them over the years, but I must admit I was tempted into the breed you got 6 weeks ago when I got my 9 week old Westie Pup.Ok so here's how to look after it, but remember, its very young, so no long walks, not that you can take them out until they have had their second set of vaccinations at 10 to 12 weeks old.Buy kibble puppy food, some good names are :- James Wellbeloved, Royal Canin, and Vitalin, it must be for a puppy. Becasue she is still so young, you can use boiling water on the kibble (natually let it cook down), but the water will swell up the dried food and make it easier for a young puppy to eat.Take your new puppy straight to a vet everyone should and normally does this, for the main reason that vets like to give a new puppy and its owner the once over. The vet will then tell you when the puppy needs its shots, plus will tell you why its so important that the puppy does have these shots, for there are 4 main diseases to dogs that kill, two of them are Parvo Virus and the other is Distemper, I can't recall the other two diseases. Then its up to the owners to have the vaccinations down on a yearly basis. Its not that expensive.
