I work as a groomer at petsmart and I wouldn't really suggest buying them. Most people who do buy them end up returning them. They aren't strong/fast enough to get the job done right. I would suggest getting a dremel we use them at work and they're much faster and can file down nails on even the biggest/thickest dog nails.

I could never clip my dog Diego's nails. And if I was in the room while his nails were getting clipped he would get figety and whiney. I got the pedipaws and NO LIE I could flip him on his back and do his nails. It would take a while since there is not a lot of friction but it made it soooo much easier. My new pup Wyatt doesn't mind the sounds but does not like the vibrations. He is getting used to it though. I didn't use the nail guard either, that just makes it more complicated. Its a lot easier to shape the nail once that big orange head is off

My husband & I had bought one for the cats & our Jack Russell Terrier. All 3 of them hated it & was terrified of it. They didn't like the sound it made, & was glad that I went back to the old anomal nail clippers. Now everyone is happy once again!

My dog is a small breed mutt and the pedi-paws would take a LONG time to trim his nails. He doesn't mind the noise, but sitting in my lap upside down for almost a half an hour annoys him. I switched to a regular drimmel on a medium-slow speed and it works MUCH faster, and it's easier to shape the nails how I want to without a guard, I don't just shove his nail down on it and grind away, I WATCH what I'm doing and don't NEED a nail guard.

I bought something similar $5.00 a walmart. Removes just the undercoat. A line of like 15 tapered teeth. Worked beautifully on my lab

I use this all the time on my boxer mix. It took some getting used to for her, but now that she knows it's not going to hurt her, she submits to it as an inevitability. It works great!

My cat will use the cardboard honeycomb scratchpads but for some reason the emery surface is not viewed as an equivalent. She loves the cheap feather toy though and has essentially destroyed it. In the first half hour of having it she was pulling on the feathers so hard the pole snapped (I just shoved it back into another hole) and since then she's nearly chewed the feathers apart from where they connect to the little pole.
