Photos: Rare Cat Breeds

There are close to 100 recognized domestic cat breeds and every last one of them descended from wildcats. Some are recognizable just by looking at them. For instance, we’ve all heard of Persian, Siamese and Burmese cats. Other cats, however, aren't as recognizable, and not nearly as common. Here are some adorable photos of rare cat breeds who may not have crossed your path!

"Sokoke cat colors are dark chestnut, black, light brown and beige without a speck of white." Then why does the cat in the photo have a distinctly white chin? Was the author misinformed about acceptable coat colors or was this an incorrect photo of the breed?

Your male kitten has absolute trust in you when he allows you to turn him over and pat or scratch (gently) his tummy. He is totally vulnerable, so must put trust in you. Also, if a kitten starts to bite, that is the worst time for you to pull away. You'll hurt. Just act like he is hurting you soooo much, Whine, and use a few crocodile tears, he'll soon stop. Why? Cats are inately good, believe it or not.

Please post a picture of a curly LaPerm to show those curls....yes, they do come in straight too which is perhaps what you have a picture of. You are welcome to use one of my pics if you wish!
