The Elf cat is a rare hybrid—a cross between the hairless Sphynx and the American Curl. Like a creature from Star Wars, Elf’s ears are large, curled, and pointed, their whiskers and eyebrows are sparse or missing, and their skin is wrinkly like that of a very old man. Personality traits include intelligence and a fondness for affection. They are active, gentle, outgoing, loyal, loving pets who will walk beside you or snuggle in your lap. Elf cats love to play and climb so be sure to provide high posts and plenty of toys. They have a great need for attention so don’t leave them home alone all day.
Fun Fact: Though they are considered hairless, it is not uncommon for the Elf cat to sport short, fine hair on their tail, in their ears and nose, and on their feet. Some of these “bald” pussycats actually have an incredibly soft, down-like fur.
