Often compared to pixies or aliens, these funny feline acrobats have low set satellite-dish ears. Their eyes are big ovals and their necks are long and thin like Audrey Hepburn’s. Nicknamed the “poodle cat,” the Devon Rex is highly intelligent and easily learns tricks. They will fetch toys, perch like a parrot on your shoulder, and wag their tail for you. Known for their soft, down, curly hair, they often lack whiskers. Devons hairs are fragile and can break off easily which causes bald patches until their next hair-growth cycle. The first Devon Rex was imported from England to the U.S. in 1968.
Fun Fact: Due to their tendency to leap onto your shoulder or into your arms and lap, this breed has been dubbed the monkey in a cat suit.
