Lyndon Johnson, the 36th President of the United States, was also a pet lover. Johnson was the parent to two Beagles, eloquently named "Him" and "Her". Though he loved his pets, Johnson got into a bit of hot water when he lifted his dog, Him, by the ears. He considered the act playful, but animal rights activists were quick to call the act abusive.
