Anyone who has ever had a cat jump into bed with them knows the unmistakable feeling of the soft paws kneading the bed and the warm fur against the body. This is exactly what many guests in room #11 at The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Old Town San Diego report feeling in the middle of the night.
The hotel, dating back to 1827, is one of the oldest (management claims the oldest) buildings in San Diego and with that kind of a history, it’s impossible to trace the origins of this feline ghost. Most guests appreciate the ghost kitty, reporting it “kept them warm all night” or feeling it “curl up and sleep the rest of the night,” but only a few report being frightened or “freaked out” by the harmless ball of fur.
