I love my Aussie/Border Collie, but please research before you buy. She's extremely dedicated, guards me fiercely, and doesn't back down from any threats. She's gorgeous, with a long, black and white coat and one blue eye. She also barks a lot, herds people through our house by poking them in the butt with her nose and pushing them through, and has been known to bark at trash cans that are not put in their places. She also needs at least 2 hours of hard, running exercise in the yard a day. This is not a dog for a novice owner. I love my Aussie, and I adopted her and I'll keep her for life, but would I get another? Most likely, not.

I love my Aussies, both adopted, one @ 18 months, and the other @ 9 months. Now 10& 11. They are beautiful, loyal, playful & ACTIVE!!! Do not adopt on looks alone, be prepared to give these babies the life & home they deserve.

All Aussie's are beautiful, but the really dark reds are exceptional. I have has red Aussies for 25 years and will have nothing else. The temperament in the red is also more driven and ready to work. Thank you for giving attention to this breed!

Very compatible dogs! Loyal and friendly - but be sure to read about their needs. Too many Australian Shepherds (and others) end up in rescue programs and animal shelters.

Certainly a cute breed - but please make sure you have the time to dedicate to this active breed!
