The Miniature horse is found all over the world. Although their height characterizes them as a type of pony, they are considered horses. Ponies and Horses are not two different breeds, but rather two different heights. A horse is 14.2 hands (58 inches) or taller and a pony is less than 14.2 hands (one hand=14 inches). There are specific horse shows for Minis in which they are shown in all different divisions. They are also used as companions for other horses or as pets and sometimes even as assistance animals.
