The Rhodesian Ridgebacks' name is no mystery. They're named after their introduction into Rhodesia, where they became popular for lion hunting. Actually, they were so perfect for this new role that afterwards, Rhodesian Ridgebacks was more commonly referred to as the African Lion Hound.

they do look very handsome, my dughter has a 8month old ridgeback, he's a lighter tan color with "white boots". how long did it take you to train them? did you have the problem with their being social with other dogs and people? or little kids? i hope you answer, i really really ned to reassure my daughter. because she loves him so so much. sincerely, rosa
