The Kelpie is a hard working and extremely intelligent herding dog that originated in Australia. They can work with very little or no human intervention.

In Australia, there are two varieties of Kelpies - show and working. The working Kelpie is bred for it's herding ability and allows much more variety in appearance than the show Kelpie.

Kelpies require a challenging job and are not likely to do well in apartments or with families that are not willing to provide this dog with an outlet to use it's intellect and a way to burn off all that energy.
