We have shared our home with six American Eskimo Dogs. They are not Border Collies, but are very smart and willing to please. Agility is easy for them as is the conformation ring. They make wonderful family members and are very loyal to their people. They love children if they are raised around them. Their care is very easy, brushing often and a monthly bath, no trimming required.

We are totally in love with our Eskies! Agreed that they are very protective, and do not like strangers....but extremely lovable to the family! Our older boy is 17 years old and still chugging along....we rescued him when he was 6 months old. And, our little guy is almost 4 years old. I couldn't imagine ever having another breed. They are the best.

i had my eski for 17 years, he was never sick, was never a handfull,(other than the hair) I would use the yard blower on him, he'd just sit lift his head as if he were saying "dont forget this spot. He knew me as well as i new him i lost him last dec. and miss him more than i ever thought.(i hever had to hit him,i dissplined him like i did my children or well. occasionaly had to yell. But he was loved, and now i dnt know if i should be another one, i dont want to compare him, do you do that. Kato was smart and observant. not a barker at all. only took him once or twice to figure out,Its just the yard dude,(While the neighbors dog never shut up, Kato would look at me as if he were saying."that is one stupid F$%#ing Dog."
