Having been responsible for the upbringing of four pigs, Melanie said that they are intelligent beings that are actually easier to train than dogs in some aspects. “They have feelings, they make decisions, they interact and respond. They display fear over something like a loud noise. And they come to us for comfort or reassurance,” she said.
Mimi and Nina enjoy having toys, such as a big beach ball to chase and push around with their snout. “They make us laugh; they really are wonderful creatures,” Melanie added.
