American Staffordshire Terrier Photos

In honor of the recently past July 4th holiday, we here at Petside thought it only proper to honor a real American dog breed: the American Staffordshire Terrier! Take a look at our slideshow dedicated to an all-American dog.

I never ever wanted this breed and in fact thought less of the breeds owners as most uneducated people would. By happenstance I ended up with a Am Staf and this dog changed my life. The most loving, loayl and gental dog I've ever known.

I never liked the AmStaf, nor wanted one, until I had one...my grandson, who lives with me and was 8 at the time, wanted a SMALL dog. I was set to get him the dog he wanted when his mother bought him a beutiful black white and brindle 4 weerk old AmStaf. She refused to keep it in her house, and was going to leave it in the back yard, so my husband & I adopted her. She is 5 yrs old now, and the nicest, mellowest dog I have ever owned. She adopts and raises any animal I bring home...cats, puppies, guinea pigs, and children. Never met such a sweet tempered animal, especially when you consider the horrible rap this breed has.

I was left for dead and a very caring gentlemen picked me up and found me a temporary home. I needed surgery to fix my broken leg and hip. My foster owner rehabilitated me and I responded to her loving care by being the best I could be. She always would give me hugs and tell me I was her sweetie. I got to be good friends with her older black labrador. Now I have a permanent home with 2 human ladies and a girlfriend.
