6 New Breeds at the National Dog Show

Six new breeds will strut their stuff at the 2011 National Dog Show Presented by Purina.

The six breeds will be greeted as a part of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s annual cluster. They will also be welcome into the homes of millions of families tuning in to watch the show on NBC, Thanksgiving day.

If your family is anything like mine, there will be some friendly wagering over which breed will win Best in Show (loser does the dishes).

So check out our slideshow for a sneak peek on each breed (courtesy of the American Kennel Club and NBC Sports), and get an edge over your family!

Nice color, sturdy build. Temperament? I could definitely considder this dog as a pet. What do they weigh? I'd guess 50-60 lbs.

I am so happy to see this breed of dog get the recognition is deserves. I own a red tic and she is the best dog I have ever had. A wonderful family pet.

The Xolo looks identical to and I'm sure is the same as my late Mexican Hairless dogs. Why the name change? And it's about time they were recognized! I haven't seen one for a long time. We got ours when we lived in Arizona and brought them back to Colorado. That was in the 60's. They are similar to the Chinese Crested. We had one of those, also.

These are some beautiful dogs. The Cesky Terrier reminds me of a Minature Schnauzer.
