The Groveland Hotel
The Groveland Hotel, (Yosemite National Park) Groveland, CA
Room 15 of the pet friendly Groveland Hotel may spook some people, but they seem to like it since the room is one of the most popular.
Lyle, a miner who lived at the hotel during the time it was a boarding house in the 1920s is said to have never left his room. Unfortunately for Lyle, he may have been forgotten in life, as when he died, his body wasn’t discovered for several days, but he will not let anyone forget him in death.
Lyle is said to turn water on and off and he doesn’t like makeup on his dresser, he is said to move it, but the pranks he plays are harmless.
An older man with a long beard has also been spotted in the hotel and sometimes keys will quit working until the staff comes to assist and announces they will enter the window if the keys don’t start working. After that, says staff, the keys begin working again.
