The Driskill

The Driskill, Austin, TX

Some of the country’s most infamous hauntings come from tragic events, including original owners losing their beloved property. It is thought the spirit haunting The Driskill, a pet friendly hotel built in 1886, was the vision of Colonel Jesse Driskill.

The hotel left him in financial ruin and he is thought to still roam the halls today. One of the most infamous sightings at the hotel involved an actor who was staying there with his two dogs a few years ago during a film shoot. On his last nigh,t the dogs awoke him, barking frantically. When he calmed them down, he realized there was a floating ball of light hovering on the other side of the room. His dogs watched the light until it disappeared.
