The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa

The 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa, Eureka Springs, AR

The 1886 Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs has a wealth of ghosts, including the 4-legged variety.

Morris the cat might be one of the ghosts that your canine companion wants to chase through this haunted pet friendly hotel. The cat was the hotel's mascot for 21 years, and is said to have never departed the hotel.

Another ghost is that of a dog, thought to be the canine companion once owned by Dr. Baker, a fraudulent doctor who turned the hotel into a cancer hospital in the 1930s. The canine apparition, as well as Morris the cat have been caught on film, which can be viewed at the hotel’s website and in the ghost book located at the front desk.

Morris has also been heard meowing through the hallways by staff and guests alike. Other ghosts that are said to occupy the hotel include one of Dr. Baker’s patients, who has been seen fumbling for her door keys on the 4th floor, and a nurse pushing a gurney down the hallway. Stay if you dare, but if Fido or Fluffy won’t enter your room, you’ll know why.

This is an interesting article, with great photos. Well-written, too. (Except that I can't see the comments, but that's an entirely different matter.) Thank you, Kerri, very enjoyable!

it is so wonderful when a mountain top spa resort in a beautiful community can also have the added entertainment of having a few ghosts. they also do a lot of weddings. my favorite was seeing a dog as a ring bearer in an outside ceremony in their beautiful fountain gardens.
