David Frei tops our list of 25 Pet People, including Ellen DeGeneres for a second year, plus Rachael Ray, Joss Stone and lots of everyday folks with an incredible dedication to animals.
We spent our entire year reading and writing stories about hundreds of humans doing thoughtful, generous, creative and downright crazy things for the betterment of pets. These are just a few who stuck out to us.
We based our rankings on the individuals' commitment to the welfare of pets, their ability to inspire others to action, and the impact they had on the public profile of pets in need.
We hope they inspire you to get out there and do something great for pets and the people who love them!

What about the lady who runs Cat House on the Kings! The lady with 700 cats - a no cage, no kill cat sanctuary!! They really should have been included!!

I think you should have included the owner of Willow the cat on FaceBook. Willow's mom, Wendy is one of the most amazing people on this planet, truly an angel of pets. She takes in kitties, fosters, finds homes for physically challenged pets that people in general wouldn't even give a 2nd look at, much less a chance at life. Here is to Wendy and Willow!
