The International Housewares Association (IHA), a trade association, has been dedicated to promoting the sales and marketing of housewares since 1938. The organization's trade show, held from March 6-8 in Chicago's McCormick Place , offers an opportunity to observe lifestyle and product trends for all areas of the home, both inside and out. At the preview in New York City last month, I spied these pet and pet-related products.
Need a storage unit for your pet's possessions? The basic Yube unit is a 13 inch cube that can be used alone or integrated with other Yube cubes and accessories - doors, feet, shelves, drawers -to create a storage unit for a single or multiple pet home. All Yube components can be customized and configured to personal tastes. This unit is decorated with my dog, Hudson's picture. The suggested retail price for the Yube is $29.50 and accessories are $20 for two shelves, $10 for a solid door, $15 for a polyglass door, $9.75 for a set of feet and $10 for two drawers. Prices vary from $18.75 to $28.75 for a customizable door.
