Here's what Petside users say about the Original FURminator!:
"The FURminator is great on both my short haired cat (who absolutely loves it) and on our Boxers. It is often difficult to get that extra fur off a short haired dog, but the FURminator is GREAT!" -Jacqueline Boisvert Noble
"It works miracles! it takes off so much hair & leaves the coat nice & fresh & very soft weather it be a dog or cat. I personally use it on my Rottweiler & she looks awesome afterwards." -Deniese Roberts

The furminator is fabulous! It really gets the loose hair thinned out and it doesn't bother my dog like rakes and other brushes do.
I always give a book to my dog loving friends and my favorite this year is Speaking for Spot: Be the Advocate Your Dog Needs to Live a Happy, Healthy, Longer Life by Dr. Nancy Kay (www.speakingforspot.com) - it will provide a lifetime of advice and teaches us to be great advocates for our pet's veterinary care. It's recommended by veterinarians, dog professionals and pet guardians. You'll read it cover to cover and then refer to it day after day.
