Some holidays are harmful for out pets. Like for instance my dog. My dog is very afraid when Christmas and New year, Because he is afraid of fireworks. Whenever he heard a fireworks he runs and hide somewhere else around our house. So watch out.........

Our neighbors have a yellow lab named morgan.Sometimes they give her beer.Almost everybody else thinks its funny, but I'm worried. They want to mate her with another lab soon. What will happen if they give her beer while she is pregnant?

your right beer is not good for a dog. the hops in the beer has acid. which can eat at the lineing of the intestines. and also damage the uterus of the dog. and can cause the dog to ither miscarry or have physically effected puppies.like alcohol to a person is the same as to a dog.. they need to better prepare themselves before breed and get better knowledge on the situation.

I really think they won't give her beer while she is pregnant.I just get bored and come to this site and learn about animal breeds.I was going to add more to this comment, but I am know a kitten mommy and have to feed kirby,my turkish angora mix.I will tell more about him later.

Okay,Kirby is about 6 weeks old and he is from a pet store called pet kare in newark,DE.He is black and white and loves to sit on your shoulders.I love to try to identify cat breeds. So far I think he is a turkish angora mixed with american short haired and domestic long haired. His brother is a short haired gray tabby.I think the only problem with pet kare is they wean their kittens too early. All Kirby is is skin, bones and puffy fur. Also his poop is wet, orange, and runny.I hate to see him in pain so much in his litter box,not to mention that I have to wash it off his feet.Hopefully he will be all better soon because of his food with medicine in it.

If anyone wants a pet, they should try an animal shelter. Four million dogs and cats are killed every year in shelters...As long as people continue to go to breeders and pet stores, more shelter animals will be killed. It is known that breeders wean their puppies and kittens too soon because they want the money! They do not care about the animal's welfare and health; they only want to be paid for the animal. When a puppy or kitten is weaned too soon, they do not have the immunity to fight off diseases that they would have if they had their mother's milk for the entire 8 weeks. I am sorry you are having problems with Kirby but I have seen this so often. I hope he gets better soon. If anyone wants a good pet, they should try PetFinder.com or go to a local shelter. I have owned 3 stray dogs over the years who just showed up at my door, having been abused, they had whip marks on their bodies and were malnourished. They lived long and happy lives with me and now I have adopted a cat who has turned out to be a lovely companion for me. I wish everyone would look toward shelters before going to a pet store or breeder.

Now Kirby is all better and has a plump little belly, and he isn't 6 weeks old.I learned he was just the runt, not too young. Now he is 10 weeks old.The pet store is good with cats and will take in any of kittens off the street,of course after bringing them to the vet.Kirby was one of them.I go to that pet store when there are older kittens that nobody seems to like that are extremely sweet, and then I play with them until they fall asleep. If I could I would have gotten a kitten from a shelter but my parents surprised me before I could think of it.[Just to let you know I am only 10 yrs old and in 5th grade!]

I am so sorry for your loss, Brianna! I know how easy it is to become attached to a beloved pet!
Maybe you could visit an animal shelter and find another dog or cat to love...I know the do you lost loved you and would want you to be happy...that is the way pets are.
Good luck to you.

I cried a lot when our cat antonio didn't come home one night...only our cat kippen showed up at the door,at the time he was a kitten, antonio was the best cat we ever had.Once,he scratched me when we were playing, but then ran over and cuddled me.I miss him.
