The Furminator: A Grooming Implement with Pizazz!

Being owned by felines is a sheer delight. I cannot even imagine what my life would be like without at least two cats lounging on my hip while I am watching television, or flying through the house at break-neck speed, finding something that catches their interest and hunting it down. Their soothing purrs help to send me off to dreamland, and the warmth of their bodies on cold winter nights is so therapeutic.

Playtime at our home can be a three ring circus, especially when our cats find a stash of old toys and proudly bring them to us with their eager invitation to play. They have very creative minds and can turn just about any item in our home into an object that catches their attention, including us in their discoveries. They keep us constantly amused by their antics.

Their fur seems to be magnetically drawn to our clothes; our couches and carpets often resemble a well manicured lawn dusted with a mist of freshly fallen snow. Of course I vacuum like crazy and run around the living room armed with double sided sticky tape in an attempt to keep the level of feline fuzz at bay. But most of the time it is a losing battle and if often seems impossible to maintain a level playing field.

I must admit I was getting somewhat distraught and frustrated. I regularly brushed and combed their coats, following with a good rub down with a towel. Their smooth coats gleamed and felt like silk, but in an hour or so, one would never guess that our cats had been so carefully attended to.

I knew there had to be a more effective solution so started on a journey to find a more suitable grooming contraption that was worth its salt. Surfing the Internet, I checked out a wide variety of combs, brushes and other suitable gadgets.

Not one of them fit the bill until; miraculously I discovered a video uploaded to YouTube by htadothk. I was overjoyed as I watched in amazement the efficiency and ease of this little grooming tool. The clincher for me was the cat's obvious enjoyment while being groomed. I "googled" Furminator and eagerly whipping out my credit card, I quickly ordered one. With my purchase confirmed and shipping promised within a few days, I eagerly awaited for the package to arrive.

When the item was delivered, I eagerly opened the box, carefully removing the Furminator and carefully read the instructions. I gently approached Hubble, our white Oriental Shorthair. As I slowly began to groom him, his body arched and stretched out. Emanating from his body was the deepest purr. His vibrations clearly demonstrated he was enjoying not only my attention, but the sensations he was feeling as I used this new grooming tool.

My husband, a born skeptic, had to admit that the huge pile of white fur which the Furminator removed was indeed impressive. The results have been phenomenal. We no longer need snow shovels to keep our living room furniture pristine, and our cats have fewer hairball episodes. This is a product well worth its cost. I highly recommend it for both cats and dogs.

Enjoy viewing a very relaxing and entertaining demonstration of the Furminator in action.

Looks like a great product. I think I will be looking into buying this as I have dogs that shed like a snowstorm. Looking forward to getting one.

I have this and really like it. It does pull out lots of dead fur. Unfortunately some of my furries do not (yet), but the ones that do tolerate it well look so much better and I think they feel a lot better too.

Not a fan of the Furminator. It releases clouds of loose fur into the air and no matter how one tries to contain it, it gets EVERYWHERE, making more of a mess than normal shedding ever could. And, my cats are not fans of the sensation, either. A total waste of money, IMO.

One of my kitties, sadly the longhair Ragamuffin (Baby), does not like being brushed or combed. Might I borrow your Furminator and see if Baby will deign to be groomed with it? I promise to clean it and return it to you right away.

I don't know what I would do without the FURminator. I have one for both my dog and my cat. It is an essential grooming tool and a real life saver.

Only 4 of my 5 cats LIKED to be brushed...and with the Furminator, I swear, I could build kittens, especially in the springtime! At first I thought it was cutting the hair, but upon close inspection, no, but boy! did the kitties LOVE it. They'd let me brush them bald, so I have to be careful! It's MOST useful in the spring; I use it daily, then cut back to once every week or two after their winter coat is gone. I've sold several of my friend (and both my daughters AND my vet on this thing...) I've had mine for over a year...and it was worth every penny!

The place where I get my corgi groomed has the option of using the fuminator as an additional add-on. We did it a couple of times in the Spring. It seemed to help. We've been talking about buying one of he kits for home.

The Furminator is the most fantastic grooming tool that I have ever used. I have had German Shepherd dog for the past 35 years and have always had a problem with the traditional tools, i.e. brush, comb, and even the stripping tool.

I have been using this on our 3 year old Niko since he was about 6 months old. Of course, he has been groomed on a weekly basis ever since we brought him home from the breeder (Monks of New Skete in NY) since they feel that it is essential to groom your dogs from the day that they come home on a regular basis.

Niko just lays, rolls over, and moans when I use the Furminator on him. Grooming has never been easier with this tool. It gets down to the skin and picks up the pet dander that settles close to the body, Just keep the basket close by, because you will be constantly dumping hair in, even when the pet gets groomed regularly. I sometimes think that he feels that he is getting a massage at the same time because of the way that he 'just literally' enjoys being groomed.

In the past, it was always a chore, not only for me but the dogs. God bless the inventor of this product. The comments that I receive about his coat are just never-ending. I would never own a pet and not have a Furminator in the house!
