Kitty Sunburn
Yes, indeed, cats can have too much of a good thing. We know they’re all sun worshipers. Seren will seek out the tiniest puddle of sunshine and move with it, napping clear across the living room floor.
But our kitties can and do suffer from sunburn--and even worse, sun-induced cancer. This primarily affects the tips of the ears and bridge of the nose on thinly furred and/or white cats.
I’m not too worried about Seren since her dark face helps protect her. But a white cat, or a cat that has a white face and ears, should be protected. In particular, cats living at higher elevations--in the mountains--have greater susceptibility to the sun’s ferocious rays.

So draw the shades during peak times, keep cats indoors, and you may even want to invest in some pet-safe sun block! Are your kitties sun-bathing-beauties?
