Bentleigh Unleashed

We took Bentleigh the boxer to a nearby open field for part of her training session.
She did some lovely recalls and down-stays, then it was … play time!
“Please. Throw. That. Ball. Now.”

There’s nothing like some strenuous off-leash playtime. The typical 20-minute leash-walk around the neighborhood doesn’t come close to burning off the energy reserves in the average dog. You might come home from a neighborhood walk feeling a little taxed but trust me, your dog is just warming up. Young, energetic dogs like Bentleigh really need time off the leash in a safe area to run around, act a fool and work up a good pant.

Bentleigh divided her time between the tennis ball and a stick.

I just love her joyful face … doesn’t she look like she’s smiling?

The best part about pant-inducing play? A tired dog is a good dog!

I feel your joy! I have a boxer myself and he is sooo enjoyable to be around after he has had a GOOD run. He's awesome!

we,are the proud owners of tess our 11year old boxer bitch, she has been a wonderful friend & companion, but sadly has been diagnosed with bladder cancer,it is only a matter of time we have been told but what a time she will have.

My daughter rescued Truckee the boxer from an abusive situation.
I did not want another big dog after our golden retriever
died but we absolutely fell in love with him. He's almost 2. We have never had a Boxer and never really thought about them!!! Let me tell you this is the best dog we have ever had!! I swear he understands when I talk to him.
He has so much energy.....keeps me walking everyday.
Absolutely needs to be off leash everyday and runs like a madman, Love Truckee so much!!!

This is to Kevin........I feel your pain over Tess. Our golden retreiver had something explode inside one night. Almost died. The vet said if it is not cancer he will be ok after surgery, but if it is cancer it just a matter of time.
We elected to try surgery ($2,000)but it was cancer and he only lasted 4 more months. He was just 9.
It was the hardest thing to watch. Should of put him down sooner. Didn't realize he was suffering so much.
Still think about him every day.
Good luck and you have our sympathies.
