Q: Why are My Puppy's Eyes Red?
Q: My 4-month-old Labrador's eyes have been red for a few days. Her under lids are droopy and red but there is no discharge. What could this be?
A: It is possible that your puppy has something called ectropion which refers to eversion of the eyelid. It usually occurs in the lower lids and can be inherited. While it doesn't always cause a problem ectropion can lead to conjunctivitis. Both conditions can be diagnosed and treated by a veterinarian. If the ectropion is causing a problem it can be repaired permanently.
