Q: Why Does My Puppy Eat Her Poop?
Q: I have a puppy who likes to eat her poop. Why is she doing this? Can it make her sick?
A: A lot of puppies seem to do this. Have your pup's stool tested for parasites. If she is positive and goes untreated she will keep infecting herself by eating her own stool! You can try sprinkling cayenne pepper onto the stool. When she goes to eat it she may not like the taste as much. There is also a powder sold by veterinarians that can be added to the dog's food. This powder then makes their feces less desirable to them!
