Is blood in my cat's feces serious?
Q: I have noticed a small amount of blood in my cat's feces. Is this something serious?
A: Blood in the stool is never normal and should always be checked by a veterinarian. A stool sample should be checked to rule out intestinal parasites. Your vet may also wish to run other tests such as bloodwork, xrays, or an ultrasound to rule out another underlying illness that may cause blood in your cat's stool.
