Q: How Did My Dog Get Intestinal Parasites?

Q: I have a 1-year-old Border Collie/Lab mix who's been diagnosed with intestinal parasites. Can you please tell me how she may have got this?

A: Most likely, your pet picked up intestinal parasites while on a walk or at a park. If your dog comes into contact with the feces of another dog that has parasites it can be transmitted. There are some parasites that can be transmitted from mothers to puppies but this is not the case in your dog!

Parasite infections are relatively common and usually easily treated. Be sure to thoroughly clean the areas where your pet has been to prevent your pet from being reinfected.

I have 2 Labs and 3 Cats. When my dogs were puppies I fed them puppy chow but they were not interested in the puppy food they wanted my cats food. Tey wouldn't touch the any kind of puppy food I bought. So after constant chasing them away from the cats food and money wasted on puppy and dog food, I finally gave up and give in to what they wanted. I find that cat food (Friskies)keeps the gas and the hacking away !!!

My bulldog has patches of a rash on her belly. It starts out as a lump, then it turns into a rash and then her hair falls out. What is it?
