Australian Kelpie

The Kelpies descended from working collies imported into Australia. The first female that produced exceptionally talented herding dog's was named "Kelpie." The name stuck with this dog for generations to come.

A Kelpie is a hard, energetic and dedicated worker. Kelpies are easily trainable but for too energetic for apartment living. Kelpie owners are more interested in this breed's working ability than looks.
